Notifications

Three-channel system: in-app feed, native push, and AI chat nudges (contextual, respectful, and useful).

Three channels

Every notification goes to the in-app feed. Time-sensitive items (upcoming class, overdue task, university alerts) escalate to push. Non-urgent context (event suggestions, insights) surfaces in AI chat. Students leave notifications on because they're useful, not because they're spammed.

Notification engine

Morning brief (configurable): classes, tasks, relevant events. Task deadline watch: 48 hours before urgent tasks, reminders escalate. Attendance alerts: 2+ missed classes triggers in-app check-in. Wellness checks: no campus activity for 5+ days, gentle opt-in nudge. Achievement celebrations. Student preferences: per-category toggles, quiet hours, frequency cap. Critical university alerts always come through.

External API for university systems

Any university system can push notifications via API: class cancellations, registration deadlines, emergency alerts, financial aid updates. Targeting: all students, by major, by class level, by campus, or custom filter. Retention data: notification engagement rates, push opt-in rates, morning brief usage correlation with attendance.
